How to get Carrier Quotes using FreightExchange

FreightExchange gives you access to competitive carrier pricing, based on the freight details you enter.


Carrier Quotes using FreightExchange

To get a quote, follow these steps:

  1. Login > New Quote
  2. Complete all of the quote details
  3. Select Buy Now on the quote option you wish to purchase


Location Types:

  • Factory/Warehouse: Commercial premises such as company buildings or third-party warehouses.
  • Carrier Depot: Carrier's depot. Choose this if you intend to drop the freight off at the nearest carrier depot or have the receiver collect the goods from the nearest carrier depot.
  • Residential: Residential premises. Note that businesses held at home should still be declared as residential.


Additional Information:

  • All items weighing 35kg and above need to be palletised or crated for easy loading and unloading between depots.
  • A tailgate service can be booked at the pickup or delivery end, or both, if the locations do not have a forklift available.
  • Authority to Leave (ATL) can be booked if the receiver will not be home to receive the goods. Note: this is subject to the delivery driver's assessment on whether it is safe to leave the goods outside the delivery premise.


Step-by-Step Guide

1. If you are not logged in, click on the "Get a Quote" button on the login screen. 



2. On the Get a Quote page, fill out the freight details, including the quantity, packaging type, dimensions, and weight. Then click "Confirm" to save.



3. Fill out the sender's information by choosing the location type and entering the pickup suburb and postcode. If the user is logged in, there will be an option to choose an address from the saved address book.


Note: To ensure Quote quality, it is very important that you enter all pick up and delivery address details accurately. 



4. Fill out the receiver's information by choosing the location type and entering the delivery suburb and postcode. If the user is logged in, there will be an option to choose an address from the saved address book.



5. Click on the  button to submit all the information.



6. The system will generate Quotes for all relevant carriers. Click on "Buy Now" if you wish to proceed with any of the quotes presented.




If you're logged in to your account, click on the "New Quote" and follow steps 2 to 6.



In the "Quote", you can also get an individual or bulk quotes.


For an individual quote, click the +Add New button and complete the required fields. Once you're happy with the quote and details you have entered you can proceed to buy the quote.



For bulk quotes, click the +Import Bulk button and follow these steps: 


  1. Download the csv template 
  2. Fill out the mandatory columns marked with an asterisk (*). 
  3. Upload the template,
  4. Add a tag, 
  5. Click Save.  


 

Click the Refresh button to refresh the page and load the remaining bulk quotes to the Quote page. It will show you the timestamp of the last page refresh.




Search and Advanced Filter Options


Users can now search for a quote using a reference, carrier name or advanced filters. Advanced filters can help refine search results by selecting exact dates, date ranges, or specific criteria. It simplifies finding relevant information quickly and efficiently.


On the Quote page, you can search for a quote/s by entering the quote reference or postcode.


You can also filter by carrier to find quotes from a specific carrier.


  

You can also use the advanced filter option to refine your searches. Click the "Advanced Filters" button.


The criteria you use, will modify the results that you see. By selecting

  • All - you will see results that exactly match all the criteria you choose.
  • Any - you will see results that match any of the criteria you will choose.


Click the Add Filter button to show another filter line.



In the Quote page, there are two filter options that you can choose from:

  • Create Date - filters the results based the quote creation date. You can look up a quote created on an certain date, range of dates, or created before or after a certain date.
  • Destination State - filters results based on the destination state. You can filter using a specific destination state. 





Note: Filters will revert to default when you switch views so it is recommended that you click the Save Filter button to save the view you have created.



You can also click on Clear all filters if you wish to reset your view. 



If you are logged in and have been inactive for a while, please refresh the portal by clicking the refresh button. Note: you can find the timestamp of the last refresh as shown below.
