How To Get a Limited Quantity Dangerous Goods (DG) Quote

FreightExchange allows you to get competitive pricing for dangerous goods (DG) shipped in limited quantities by showing all available carrier options based on the freight details you have declared.  Please note that DG access requires approval; thus, kindly liaise with Customer Service via email if you wish to activate your account's DG settings. You must provide the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) details for the DG's you will be shipping for approval by the carriers.

Step-by-Step Guide

To get a DG quote, follow these steps:

  1. Login > New Quote.
  2. Complete all of the quote details, including the UN number, DG class details and weight of dangerous goods contained in the shipment from your SDS.
  3. Select Buy Now on the quote option you wish to purchase.
  4. If you do not have pre-approval, you will be prompted to send the SDS for the goods you will be shipping for approval by the carriers. This may take 24 hours.

Location Types:

  • Factory/Warehouse: Commercial premises such as company buildings or third-party warehouses.
  • Carrier Depot: Carrier's depot. Choose this if you intend to drop the freight off at the nearest carrier depot or have the receiver collect the goods from the nearest carrier depot.
  • Residential: Residential premises. Note that businesses held at home should still be declared as residential.

Additional Information:

  • The DG details of your consignment can be found on the manufacturer's Safety Data Sheet (SDS).
  • All items weighing 35kg and above are expected to be palletised or put in crates for easy loading and unloading between depots.
  • A tailgate service can be booked at the pickup or delivery end if the locations do not have a forklift.
  • Authority to Leave (ATL) can be booked if the receiver is not home to receive the goods. Please note that this is still subject to the delivery driver's assessment of whether leaving the goods outside the delivery premises is safe.
