If you print on thermal label printers, FreightExchange can send each label in ZPL format straight to your own system as soon as a booking is made. Your system then passes it to the printer, ready to print.
Prerequisites
Before you start, make sure you have
- a FreightExchange log in
- a system that can receive labels at a web address starting with https:// and send them to your printer (your IT team or developer can set this up)
- confirmation that your system replies with an HTTP 200 status each time it receives a label
Step-by-Step Guide
- Log in to the FreightExchange Portal.
- Go to Settings > Labels and documents.
- Switch "Receive ZPL labels" on.
- In "Shipping documents webhook URL", enter the full web address of your system, starting with https://.
- If labels now arrive in your own system, you can switch "Send label emails" off so your team doesn't get a copy by email as well.
- Click "Save changes".
Note: Double check the webhook address before you save. If it's wrong, or your system can't accept the message, the label won't reach your printer. You can still find all your labels and documents in FreightExchange.
FreightExchange API Documentation
Your developer can find the message format in the API documentation, linked under the webhook field on the settings page.
