What are Child Accounts?
Child Accounts are sub-accounts linked to a central Parent Account. They allow you to manage access and maintain control while offering flexibility to your team, customers or partners.
With FreightExchange’s Child Account functionality, you can:
- Assign unique Admin level access to users.
- Give control to your customer partners to book their own jobs
- Monitor activity across accounts.
- The choice to consolidate billing under one Parent Account or assign direct to the child account.
- Set sales rates so your margin is built into the prices your child accounts access
- Streamline freight management for distributed teams.
User Guide
- Log in to your FreightExchange Parent Account.
Navigate to the Account Settings page.
- Select Add Child Company and enter the required details.
- Click Save
- Edit your child account if you with to set the new account as an admin.
- Save your changes to notify the user of their new account.
Editing or Blocking Child Accounts
If any anytime you need to edit or block a Child user, you can:
- Navigate to the Account Settings page.
- Search for the User
- Click the pen icon to edit the user (ie to uncheck the admin option or update their email address)
- Click the block icon to prevent their use of FreightExchange.

Yes, you can customize permissions for each Child Account based on the user’s role and responsibilities.

This depends on your requirements, all charges can be consolidated under the Parent Account for simpler billing or we can set up child specific billing.
