How to Connect Your Australia Post and/or Startrack Account

If you have an existing account and rates with Australia Post and/or Startrack you can easily bring your own accounts across to FreightExchange to receive quotes, print labels and book and track shipments along side our other broker carriers.

Part 1: Get your AusPost and/or Startrack API Key

  1. Navigate to https://developers.auspost.com.au/apis/st-registration
  2. Sign-up and login to the Australia Post Developers Centre
  3. Register for a Shipping & Tracking API Key
  4. Once complete, Australia Post will send your API key & Password

Part 2: Set-up your AusPost & Startrack Account in FreightExchange


  • Select AusPost or Startrack from the Carrier drop list
  • Complete all relevant details (note the details required for these carriers are the same but you will need to add them separately).


FieldInstructions
Display NameYou can name this carrier whatever makes sense to your business. 
ServicesSelect some or all of the available services. 
Account OwnerIf you have activated Child Accounts, you can select the relevant Account Owner for each carrier. 
CurrencyYou can select the right currency for your business and all prices will display in that currency for the carrier you are setting up.
Cancellation EmailInclude the best contact email address for your carrier account so that your team and our operations team can request shipment cancellations.
Dedupe RatesIf there are multiple services for a carrier and you prefer to return the most suitable and cheapest service only then set dedupe as true.
Configurations 
  • Account Number: AusPost or Startrack Account Number 
  • Username: AusPost Account Username 
  • Password: Auspost Account Password



Once you click save, you will see AusPost in your list of carriers with the status Awaiting CarrierThere are three statuses to look out for:


StatusDescription
Details NeededYou have not entered all the details needed to activate the carrier. Click on Details Needed to open the pop up and complete the required details. 
Awaiting CarrierAll of the carrier details have been sent to the carrier and we are waiting on the carrier to activate your shipping & tracking API integration request.
ShippingYou are set up and good to go. You can start shipping on your carrier account. 



Once all the above steps are done, you can proceed to book your shipments with AusPost and/or Startrack without any rates being loaded. If you would prefer to upload your rates, then please share the rate card with [email protected].
